Oh what a party! We had about seven children, their moms and dads, Harper's grandparents, neighbors and friends all here for the big bash. We chowed on carrot cake and ice cream, plus a wonderful cheese plate and spinach dip that Joanie brought, we drank a little wine and some beer, opened LOTS of presents, popped balloons and got a little crazy. I can't believe I was having a baby this time last year, I much prefer the birthday party to stitches and first-time breast feeding! One year is so much fun, and now Harper has so much energy I can't keep up. All day I kept thinking, now this time one year ago I was 5 centimeters dilated, not this time I started pushing, now this time still pushing, and still pushing, and this is when Harper took her first breath! I got teary eyed several times and am so very thankful that we have such an amazing little girl! And so many friends and so much family to help celebrate her life with us. I think Harper really enjoyed the party too, but the concept of SHARE has a LONG way to come!
